Thoughtful giving for stronger communities, better lives

The East Tennessee Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) public, nonprofit, community foundation created for the purpose of building charitable resourses, thus making our communities and lives stronger.  I just recently became involved with this foundation, on a very small level, but became quite impressed with how it works. It is basicly, in a nutshell, a foundation that has a collection of funds from individuals, families, organiztions, etc.  They manage, grow and invest the monies. Then they make grants.  This paticular foundation is made up of 25 East Tennesse counties.

The foundation serves as a vehicle for philanthropy by connecting donars with the causes they care about.  There are over 650 community foundations nationwide.

The East Tennessee Foundation provides a simple, powerful and highly personal approach to giving.  They are involved and have given grants and scholarships across the board from Alumni associations, Memorial scholarships to Arts and Education.  For more information how you can become involved or establishing your own scholorship fund, please visit EastTennesseeFoundation.org
