The new phase that has taken the nation is called the "escape room". 
team of people (6,8,10...) and you have 60 minutes to figure out the clues to get out. It is a blast! Just google "Escape room,,,any city" and I guarantee one will pop up! We have participated in two such rooms. One in Knoxville and one in Nashville. Both had their challenges and were very different. These companies have several different rooms which are catered to different group sizes. 
So if you have 12 people, you may have to book early to guarantee your space. On the other hand, a group of 2 may be able to join a group of 4 to participate in a larger room. They encourage making new friends!
